It is up to Nikon to add that functionality to D90. I don't think they will add it.

Is there a way to set the app to external monitor only to allow me to use my infra-red remote control at the same time?

(Live-view through the EOS app on my computer shuts off the infra-red remote ability too even though the remote is listed as working with external monitors but I suspect that is through an HDMI connection.)

If this doesn't exist and is possible through a USB connection, can you add the functionality to use the infra-red remote instead of the app for shutter release?

With the app I am using a Canon Rebel T1i/EOS 500D with Asus/Google Nexxus 7 (2012) and TX-8 infra-red remote.

D3000, D3100, D3200, D3300 - cameras have limited remote functionality and only basic control is available. There is no BULB, no video recording, no AF point change in LV, and no many other functions.

I'm planning on buying the app, but I have some questions about this before I do. What features are supported on the D3300? Does custom bracketing work? Why doesn't the bulb option work when the camera itself supports it?
