Dslrdashboard will not work with canon 7D if an AC adapter is used on the camera. It will work if the standard canon battery is used. Unfortunately using the standard battery requires touching the camera during time lapses; which is not acceptable.
If the AC adapter is used the software remains stuck on the initial screen that has icons along the top. It may be helpful to know that whenever the AC adapter is used, the camera initially displays a screen saying it cannot communicate with the battery and asks if you want to use the battery. Selecting OK puts the camera into normal operation. It would seem that the Dslrdashboard software may read an error or not get a return signal it is looking for.
Can you please provide a work around.
Thanks
Evan.

Can you maybe run a debug version on Linux, WIndows or OSX ?
