iPad is lokking during oparations

Hi all,
is there any option, to keep an iPad still allive? When i use qdslrdashboard on my iPad, it locks after 30s. When the iPad locks, the qdslrdashboards even stopps too.
Is there any setting in qdslrdashboard i overlooked? Or is the only opportunity, to disable the lock function on the iPad settings?! But thats only a workaround ...
