DDserver on RaspberryPi can't get list of Camera connected
Re: DDserver on RaspberryPi can't get list of Camera connected
What camera do you use? How long is the USB cable?
Maybe this is related to your problem: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/897

Re: DDserver on RaspberryPi can't get list of Camera connected
My camera is a Nikon D40X. If I connect the camera to my PC, everything is fine when I use DigiCamControl .
What I have noticed, I get this problem when I am powering the RPi from the PC or a power pack which can output uptp 2A. When I do use the recommended RPi mains adapter, I can get a connection. However I need to get this working without having to rely on mains supply.
The USB cable is a one meter long and the OTG cable is about 6 inches.
I have ordered a 0.5m USB OTG Cable - Type Micro-B to Mini-B so there is no connection from camera cable to the OTG cable. I will post here to how I have got on.

Re: DDserver on RaspberryPi can't get list of Camera connected
Having tried now with a specific 0.5m USB OTG Cable - Type Micro-B to Mini-B, I no longer have any problems. Clearly having to connect to a OTG cable and using a 1 meter cable from the camera to the OTG cable was the cause of all the problems.

I needed to manually add the AP to my Android device but after that it is displayed and I can connect to it.

what does syslog on the RPi say when you tell the client to connect to DDServer?
