storage of photos

Do the photos taken by dashboard store on the android device or the camera I have taken 7 photos and cannot find 1

Depends how you setup your capture.
By default the images remain on the DSLR SD card.
If you long press the qDslrDashboard 'Capture' button (it turns red) then the captured images will be transfered to controlling device.
