n00b with some install questions?

I'm brand-new to qdslr and having a few issues with the installation. Can someone please help me out?
I've got a Win 7 x64 laptop I'm trying to use...
So I first run vcredist_x64.exe and get the error "Error 0x80070666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed."
Did some research and found the link to the "missing Win 7 dlls"...went ahead and downloaded them and as instructed and put them in the proper folder.
Now when I try and run qDslrDashboard.exe, I immediately get "qDslrDashboard has quit working..."
I'm stuck. Any help appreciated.
(Is there an actual installation file? I cannot seem to find one anywhere. What am I missing here?)
