Help with Nikon D7100 on Macbook Pro

Hi - I have been able to successfully hook up my old Nikon d7100 to my new Macbook Pro using qslrdashboard and a usb cable, but I have two issues. The first is that what I see on my Macbook appears to be the low-res output of what I would have seen on the camera's back monitor. If I take a photo it's high res however. As I'm using the camera to live stream, I need the quality output from the lens itself bypassing the rear monitor. Unfortunately because Mac's don't have a HDMI input feature it can't be used as a video input device. Is there anyway to get around this?

The second issue is that when I go to LV mode I have a countdown of about 10 minutes. I've not been able to find out why this is or how to switch it to always on.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

The live view resolution is only 640x480
Check the camera C4 live view timeout settings.
