qDSLRDashboard for iOS Question

This interests me, but I have a couple questions before purchasing.
Can the iOS app be used hard wired between my D800 or D7100 and my iPad?
Can it be used wirelessly using a Nikon WU-1a/b wireless adaptor.
The app page is pretty sparse as to what connection is required. My first choice, if available, is a wired connection to the iPhone or iPad
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated
