Ramping reference value during LRT Holy Grail workflow

Post by mccrew »

Workflow question on using the LRTimeLapse Holy Grail workflow.

Is the expectation that the operator will manually adjust the average reference value, say ramping it down during a sunset when overall light values are dropping? Or is there an automated way

I just did a first serious effort of LRT/Holy Grail workflow using qDslrDashboard (https://youtu.be/J-mE7IMCKPg) and it worked pretty well overall, but it took me a while to realize that I needed to stay ahead of the dropping light by resetting the reference value regularly.

Thanks for a really great tool

Yes...I was wondering the same thing. Once the sun sets, the exposure continues to ramp, to the point where the camera is "seeing in the dark". It seems I need to manually reduce the reference point after dark?

I just watched Gunthers tutorial on this with LRTimelapse and that's what he says you have to do. Reset the reference point.
