I hav connected my D700 Nikon to iPad With a OTG USB cable (like suggested on the internet) but it does not work. Anybody can tell me how to connect a D700 to an iPad? Thanks in advance.

And it won't work. There is no USB-OTG on idevices.
You need WiFi to connect with camera.
