D750 , v0.2.9, connection issues

Hi all
I wonder if I'm doing something wrong? When I try to connect my D750 to QDslrDashboard, it usually fails. I can connect to the Nikon WMU with some regularity, but QDD just responds with 'failed to connect to Nikon Wireless DSLR.
The one time I managed to connect, I had just connected via WMU. It's very frustrating as I can't connect with any consistency, and usually not at all. I never had these issues with my D7100 and the old DslrDashboard.
