Controlling SONY A7RII thru USB ?

Post by tak530 »

Does qDSLRdashboard support controlling SONY A7 cameras thru USB port ?
I have no problem with controlling my A7RII wirelessly with qDSLRdashboard but no good luck with USB connection.

Any idea ? Thank you.

I'm having the same issue with the a6000, but, with exception of AF, all other functions seem to work fine with wifi. Had to update the camera firmware and Smart Remote application first though.

You cannot control Sony via USB with qDD. There is no openly available API for USB connection.

  • Install the latest firmware on camera.
  • Install on the camera the latest 'Smart remote control' application from Playmemories (https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/ ... _00-F00002)
  • Start the 'Smart remote control' application on the camera (the one you installed in previous step)
  • Connect/pair your controlling device (Android, iOS, PC) wireless with the Sony camera wireless.
  • Start qDslrDashboard and press the 'Sony wireless' button.
