TP-Link Disconnect

Post by skydivebob »

I have been able to connect to my Nikon D610 through the TP-Link router however the link drops out after a minute or two. I have seen the live view and tripped the shutter of the camera but that's about it. I've tried this with both my phone and tablet with the same results. I go back and re-establish the connection and get the same results. Looking for help to keep the connection up.

Thanks,
Bob

Check if camera doesn't lose connection with router due to bad USB cable (3G LED will go dark).

No it's not the cable. When the Link is running the first 2 lights flicker green and the power light is on as well. When it stops, dorps the connection, the top 2 lights go solid green. It stays up after I start and connect the app for less than a minute. What next?

If WiFi LED stops blinking then the wifi connection is dropped, probably by phone/tablet.
You can reflash router firmware.
Check if set WiFi channel is not to crowded (eg. with WiFi Analyzer app). Because if the are many networks running on the same channel range will drop significantly.

OK...so one thing I've learned is that the Samsung Tab3 pings the Wi-Fi connection for an internet signal and once it doesn't see one it will disconnect. I think that is the issue. Now I need to figure out if this can be turned off so everything will stay up.

When it comes to Samsung I don't think it is possible to go around their stupid ideas.
But I haven't had any troubles with disconnecting WiFi on Samsung Galaxy Tab2, Tab4 or few Samsung phones.
And pinging internet is a normal thing on Android.

I have the same problems with my EOS 700D connected over WLAN with the TP-Link router. The camera is connected and after autofocussing or any other actions the connection break down. The display of the Camera turned to black.

There might be another way.
I had a Samsung phone yesterday and found that it has a option to keep best internet connection.
It switches between WiFi and cellular for internet automatically. I think that turning it of will do the trick with out the need to change system.
