Focus Stacking slow

Post by galaxy » 23 Dec 2018, 11:25

Hi,

I have used dslrdashboard for a while and I have just purchased ControlMyCamera for a new iPad.

I am testing Focus Stacking with a D750, NEF large plus jpg Basic files, and all is good, except for the long time to transfer an image from camera to tablet, around 15 seconds for each frame. So a stack of 30 frames takes a while.

My guess is that you are transferring NEFs as well as the jpgs maybe ?

I would suggest just jpgs would be fine and would accelerate the shooting process greatly.

What do you think ?

If 'Image review after capture' is enabled in ControlMyCamera settings and RAW+JPG or JPG is selected as image format only the JPG file is transfered.
You should set JPG small, that should speed up the transfer.
You can also disable the 'Image review after capture' that would even more speed up the focus stacking.

If you long press the 'Capture' button it will turn red meaning that after capture it will download the capture images (if RAW+JPG is selected both is downloaded).
