I have two android devices a Galaxy Tab 2 and a brand new LG G3 phone. Every thing works great using the TP-Link MR3040 on both units. All adjustments work except I am not able to start video recording. The tablet works both tethered and on wi fi, the phone doesn't work tethered, it does everything but record on wi fi.

Hi.
After hours of unsuccessful attempts, I finally found this way to record videos with qDslrDashboard + 5D Mk II, using an USB link or a Wifi one in conjuction with a MR3040:
- establish connection between Android terminal and 5D
- activate Live View on Android terminal
- activate Live View on 5D using the button located on top left of the camera screen
- once the 5D screen is on you can start/stop recording videos from the Android terminal using the camera button under the AF one
The only drawback is increased consumption of the 5D battery.
Alain.

Thanks Alain, that worked.

I have hacked a battery with a voltage reducer so that I can plug into a jump starter battery pack. It will last for days. You can actually use any sort of battery pack.
