qDslrDashboard ANDROID no USB teather

Post by lgclem »

I have the PAID for version of qDslrDashboard ANDROID that I bought through the Play Store. I had fully expected that the paid version would work as advertised but not so. I am running the software on a Samsung SM-T900 12” tablet and have tried tethering it with an OTG cable to my Canon 6D without success. The software will not recognize or connect to the 6D using USB. Although I have managed to connect using the Wi-Fi capabilities of the software and that of the camera but I prefer to connect direct with a hard wire connection. Please advise me on how to get a successful USB connection or refund me.

First check if you tablet has full USB-host functionality.
Download app called "USB Device Info" and see if your camera is visible in both tabs.
If yes - uninstall any other app for camera control and try again.

If you can't see camera in both tabs then your tablet has limited USB-OTG functionality and you won't be able to use USB.

I do have the SM-P900 and doesn't support USB host. So most likely the T900 doesn't support it as well. The only way is through wifi.
You won't get any refund. The description clearly says your device has to have USB host function. Your responsibility to check for it.
