TPLink 3040 Installation

Post by osterizerble »

Hi,

Thank you zoltan and wonderful people for putting up your time to help each other.

I just got my new TP Link 3040. I am having trouble setting up my router. I was following the tutorial by zawzero. I connected my router using ethernet cable to my laptop. Disabled the internet and then tried to configure the local area connection wizard as per the video tutorial. After configuration, the local area connection wizard never identified my router. Anyway, I opened chrome web browser and tried to open 192.168.0.1. At first it did not work with the following message "This site can’t be reached. 192.168.0.1 took too long to respond" .After few more tries it finally opened and I successfully flashed factory image for version 2, AP mode. Went back to network connections and changed the IP again as per the video. Tried to open 192.168.1.1 and got same message that site cannot be reached and its taking too long. Went back to wifi settings and changed it to DDserverAp and was good to go with openwrt settings. I messed up somewhere when it says wireless is restarting when you try to enable the connection. After that I was just lost. I also don`t see DDserverAP network anymore under wifi options.

1. How to connect with TPLINK Firmware and openwrt web interface. I always get the error that site cannot be reached and taking too long.
2. How can I start again the flashing process in case I messed up?

Please help

Thanking you in anticipation

You don't need to enable anything after the flashing is done.
The wireless was enabled, you probably disabled it.

You can try and connect with the network cable the MR3040 to your PC/laptop and then opening the http://192.168.1.1 OpenWrt administrative page.
Your PC/laptop should be not connected to other network (best you turn off wireless for that period)
