Connection Issues Nexus 7, Nexus 6, Sony a6300

I have been trying to get qdslr to work with a Sony a6300 and either a Nexus 7 2013 or a Nexus 6. I have the OTG cable. I was able to pair the camera with both Android devices via Playmemories smart remote, but it would disconnect when I went to open the qdslr app. I checked the usb status of both android devices and although they were fine, when I checked to see if they recognized the camera after connecting the OTG cable they came back as not recognizing the camera. I assume this must be something I am doing wrong unless others are having this problem. Any ideas?

Sony cameras will only work with the 'Smart remote control' Playmemories application using wireless. USB connection to Sony cameras will not work.

Update the 'Smart remote control' application on your a6300 with the latest one from Playmemories ( https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/ ... _00-F00002 )
Start 'Smart remote control' on your a6300
Connect/pair your controlling device wireless with the a6300 wireless.
Start qDslrDashboard and press the 'Sony wireless' button.
