USB not connecting

I just bought this app hoping to connect my cannon 100D to my Sony phone however everytime I try to connect it says 'searching for USB devices' but never finds my camera.
I have tried everything I can think of to sort this problem however I can't work out what to do to fix it. Any ideas?

You need to use an USB OTG adapter and your Android device must have the USB host function.
Also be sure to enable the 'Use Android native USB access' option in qDslrDashboard settings.

I had a look online to check if my phone had the usb host function turns out all I had to do was go into my phones settings and turn on USB connectivity app connects to my camera fine now, thanks for the help!
