Hi, I have a new TP 30-40, Fully charged and left connected to the power suppy, just in-case, but when I plug out the network cable from my home router and plug it in the MR3040 to computer nothing happens, all I have in network connections is Local Area Connection and even when I disable that nothing else shows.
I do just connect the 3040 direct to the computer with cable and nothing else in-between?
Maybe doing something wrong but I can't see it!!
Thanks
Russ
Forgot Windows 7 64 bit.

Anyone please?

When you connect MR3040 to PC with ETH cable you will see only local network. Nothing else.
Connecting different devices to LAN port you won't have different connections. It will only change it's IP adres if computer is set to use DHCP. If you have configured static IP you will have to change it to dynamic.

Re: New TP 30-40 not seen on computer
Hi, Thank you for your reply.
I plug the 3040 direct into the computers socket at one end and into the 3040 at the other should I be pluging it into my router with the internet from the phone socket removed?
When I plug it into the computer the only icons I see are what are there for normal working of the internet with the Local Area Connection Disabled. Thank you
Russ

Re: New TP 30-40 not seen on computer
You should unplug the network cable from your PC that goes to your home network.
Then connect your PC and the MR3040 with a network cable.
In the Network interfaces window (that you posted) right click on the 'Local Area Connection' and select 'Status' then in the upcoming window clieck on 'Details'.
You should see the assigned IP (IPv4 address) to your PC.
If the MR3040 has the original TP-Link firmware the address should be 192.168.0.1
If you already have OpenWrt on MR3040 it should be 192.168.1.1.
Do you have that?

Does your PC maybe have 2 network ports?
Do you see the light on the network port when you connect your PC with the MR3040?
Is the network adapter maybe set for connection sharing?

Re: New TP 30-40 not seen on computer
Hi, No 2 ports.
No light when connected 3040 but yes when the Home router connected, it flashes at the connection on computer.
Connection sharing no, only router used as wireless to other system but tried with that router turned off.
Wondering if it is the cable that is faulty will try another later.
Thank you for the help.
